When My Favourite Teacher Is Away

My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about days when my teacher is away. Sometimes my favourite teacher cannot be at school — maybe they are sick, at a meeting, or on holiday. Everyone needs a day away sometimes. Teachers usually come back soon.

When my favourite teacher is away, I might feel disappointed or a little worried. Missing someone is a normal feeling — it shows that the person matters to me. The feeling gets smaller as the day goes on.

Other adults at school can help me today. They know the things I might need. I can do my work, play at break time, and eat my lunch like usual. If I feel wobbly, I can tell a grown-up at school how I am feeling.

When my teacher comes back, I can say hello and tell them what happened while they were away. They will be happy to see me. Getting through a day without my favourite teacher shows how much I can do.
