My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about taking a bath or a shower. When I play, sleep, and go about my day, my skin and hair get a bit dirty and sweaty, even when I cannot see it. Washing my body keeps me clean and helps me feel fresh.

Warm water and soap help wash the dirt away. The water might feel different on my skin — warm, or a little tickly. That feeling is okay. If the water is too hot or too cold, I can tell a grown-up, and they can help make it just right.

I use soap to wash my body, and shampoo to wash my hair. I wash from top to bottom — my hair, my face, my arms, my tummy, my legs, and my feet. If shampoo gets near my eyes, I can close them tight. a grown-up can help me rinse.

When I am clean, I turn off the water and dry myself with a towel. My skin feels warm and soft. Being clean helps me feel comfortable and ready. Taking a bath or shower is something I am learning to do well.
