Riding the Bus
Using public transport, step by step.

My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about riding the bus. The bus takes people to the places they need to go. I wait at the bus stop with a grown-up. When the bus comes, I wait for it to stop fully before I step forward. Waiting keeps me safe.

When the doors open, I step on. We tap our card or pay the driver. Then I find a seat and sit down. Other people are finding their seats too.

While the bus moves, I stay in my seat and hold on. The bus can be noisy, bumpy, or busy, and that is okay — buses are often like that. I can look out the window and watch the world go by. We watch for our stop together.

When our stop is close, a grown-up presses the button so the driver knows to stop. I wait for the bus to stop fully, then step off carefully. Riding the bus is something I am getting good at. Each trip makes the next one easier.
