A big change made gentler — what stays the same when we move.

My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about moving to a new home. My family is going to live in a different house. Moving is a big change, and it is normal to have lots of feelings about it.
Families move for many reasons. Maybe the new home is closer to work or school, or has more room, or is somewhere new. a grown-up has chosen this move to help our family.
I might feel excited about a new room, and also sad about leaving the old one. I might feel worried about what is new. All of these feelings are okay. It is alright to feel more than one thing at once.
Even though the house is new, many important things stay the same. My family is still my family. My toys and favourite things come with me. The people who love me still love me, wherever we live.
At first, the new home might feel strange. After a little while, it will start to feel familiar and cosy. I can help unpack my things and make my new room my own. I am learning that I can settle into a new home.
