Going to the Supermarket
What to expect on a trip to buy food.

My name is {{childName}}. This is my story about going to the supermarket. We go to the supermarket to buy the food we need. The supermarket can be bright, busy, and noisy, and that is okay. Many families do their shopping there every week.

When we arrive, we get a trolley or a basket to carry the food. I stay close to a grown-up as we walk through the aisles. Staying close keeps me safe in a busy place. There is a lot to see along the way.

I can help find the things on our list and put them in the trolley. Helping makes the shopping go faster, and it can be fun. There are lots of people, sounds, and things to look at. If it starts to feel like too much, I can tell a grown-up, and we can take a quieter moment together.

At the checkout, we wait for our turn and pay for the food. Then we pack it into bags and carry it to go home. Shopping is finished for today. I helped with the shopping, and that is something to feel good about.
