Following Directions at School
Listening for the teacher's directions and doing my part.

My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about following directions at school. A direction is when a teacher tells the class what to do, like 'line up' or 'open your books.' Teachers give directions to help the class learn and stay safe.
When my teacher is giving a direction, I try to stop, look, and listen. Sometimes there is a signal first, like the teacher raising a hand or saying 'everyone look.' The signal means a direction is coming.
After I hear the direction, I try to do it, even if I would rather do something else. When everyone follows directions, the class runs smoothly and there is more time for fun learning.
If I don't understand a direction, that is okay — I can ask my teacher or watch what the other children do. I am learning to listen for directions and follow them at school.
