Page 1 · What helping isWhat helping is

My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about helping others. Helping means doing something kind for another person. When I help, I make someone's day a little easier.

I can look for times when someone needs help. Maybe a grown-up is carrying lots of things, or a friend has dropped something, or someone looks lonely. Noticing is the first step.

Page 3 · Asking and helpingAsking and helping

Before I help, I can ask, 'Would you like some help?' If they say yes, I can lend a hand. If they say no, that is okay — some people like to do things by themselves.

Helping others feels good for them and for me. Small kind acts make the world a friendlier place. I am learning to notice when someone needs help and to lend a hand.
