Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder. Generally affecting more boys than girls, with 1 in every 150 children born going on to receive a diagnosis of autism, usually by the age of three.

No two autistic children are ever the same, but all will display autistic social skills deficits. Many autistic children will also have sensory processing issues in one or sometimes all of their senses; sight, sound, feel, smell, taste.

Many parents of autistic children choose to send their son/ daughter to mainstream schools, these children with autism spectrum disorders will normally be mild to high functioning autistic or asperger syndrome students with average or above average intelligence.

This site is dedicated to helping teachers of autistic students and autistic children, whatever level they are on the autism spectrum disorder scale, in the school and classroom setting. By offering autism resources and social skills stories, all guaranteed and written by experts.
